Visa Requirements

To study in New Zealand, you need a Student Visa. Requirements include:
• Valid Passport
• Offer of Place from an approved education provider
• Evidence of funds (NZD $20,000 per year for living costs + tuition fees)
• Genuine student intention (bona fide test)
• English language proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE)
• Medical and chest X-ray certificates
• Police clearance certificate
• Travel insurance

Work Rights

International students can work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and full-time during scheduled holidays and breaks.
After graduation, the Post-Study Work Visa allows you to stay and work in New Zealand:
• Post-Study Work Visa (Open): 12 months (can work for any employer)
• Post-Study Work Visa (Employer Assisted): Up to 24 months additional (requires job offer in your field)
Total: Up to 3 years of work rights after graduation, depending on your qualification level and location of study. This New Zealand work experience can help with future residency applications.
